Wedding Pics

Here are a couple of pictures from the wedding, compliments of Kristie! It was a beautiful wedding and full of lots of drama! We were glad we were able to be there for Beau and Brittney. Cali had fun on the airplane and with the exception of the lady in front of us turning around to ask her to stop kicking her son's chair (while I quietly read) all went well!

Beau's Wedding

We had a lot of fun seeing Beau and Brittany get married last weekend. Chad, Cali, and I went as well as everyone else in Chads family. The boys put this little dance together------you can see it on youtube. Oh, and it is not me he is dancing with; as a groomsmen he was dancing with one of the bridemaids as well as his other brothers. Here is the link:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQ6dxngHhuY. It is the top video in the video bar on the right side of this post but I have no idea what the second video is or how to get rid of it! Anyway, check this out. I hope to post more pictures later!

A fun day at Mimi and Popi's

The top 2 pics are of Kael, the bottom 2 are of Ky!

Well, we really don't go too many places these days because of crazy toddler boys who divide and conquer. Parks are nearly impossible, and anywhere with a lot of people, I lose them almost immediately. I seriously bought two of those leash backpacks (that I said I would never do) but when it comes to keeping kids from being ran over, I put my pride away and bought them. Well the boys are too smart, They just scream and throw a tantrum until I give up. I tried just tying them together but they just ran away from each other until they untied. They serioiusly both go separate ways and my job as an ER nurse and learning to triage is coming in handy....quite a few injuries(all minor) but mostly because I choose to chase the one who is in "immediate" danger. Anyway, these are just some pics that Chad took from his phone of one day that we did venture up to my parents and of course they like playing on the pool cover more than the actual pool and they get so dirty. They also love the tractor and 4-wheeler. They are true boys. They definately give me a run for my money but they are also my two little buddies who think I am pretty cool so we are surviving!

We loved our "Mama Duck"

Chad was in our planter area grabbing the hose one day and jumped as he noticed a mama duck had made her nest back in the corner. She stayed their for about 5-6 weeks leaving once per day for food. We counted about 15 eggs at one point but didn't want to touch them to be sure. Cali would go out on the front porch and say goodnight to the mama duck each night. Well, a couple of weeks ago, the eggs finally hatched. It was fun to see. The ducklings would come out for a minute then mama duck would make some noises and they would all pile right back under her and she would sit on them...protecting them. They waited until we all gave them some space then they waddled off unnoticed. We came back out after spending most of the day watching them and waiting to find an empty nest with lots of egg shells. It was a fun little experience for the kids and we have a few pictures...thanks to kim(my battery was dead)!

This first one is of Cali sitting on the rock watching and waiting for the ducklings to come out from under Mama duck to say hi!

Belly Laugh

So just a quick post, but I seriously had a belly laugh moment last night! Chad and I had just climbed into bed, talking about our day and the kids. Chad nonchalantly(is that how you spell that) mentioned that he took Cali to the bathroom while they were at the park. He continued to say that he took her into the women's restroom! He just figured, I am not the one going to the bathroom she is and she is a girl! Then he says that he has done it before, at RC Willey's. He says that each time he realized it as he was in there and just hoped no-one would come in! He laughed as well, but didn't feel it worthy of my belly laugh. What is your opinion? Somehow, luckily he has managed to be in the women's restroom without another women coming in. Although not hoping for a perverted husband, I do hope that if this happens again, that a women does come in so it will be imprinted in his mind, that men, yes, even men with 3-year old females are not allowed in the women's restroom!

Our Unforgettable Vacation!

I know it has been a while and I have a lot to catch up on but I will start out with what is fresh on my mind. Well, Chad and I have been planning on going on a cruise for a few years and back in January we booked a 7 night cruise to Mexico. Well, a few weeks later, Chad was informed that he had to be to work on one of the days we would be gone, so we tried to get it changed before a $ penalty but couldn't so we ended up paying an extra $900 (nearly the cost of the whole trip) to get it changed to 1 week earlier. We were set on going to Mexico! Anyway, we left on Friday, April 24th and Krista picked us up at the Airport. We stayed with her and her and Derick introduced us to RockBand! We stayed up late trying with no improvement but we had so much fun hanging with them anyway!

The Cruise....so 2 days into the cruise we are told that we are no longer allowed to port in Mexico due to the Swine Flu. We turn around and head back up to the states. One ship ported and was quaranteened until they could prove no-one had any symptoms/fever before they could come back to the states. Anyway, so after after 4.5days of dizziness and moderate sea sickness and 1.5 day of warm weather we finally ported in San Diego. We met a couple from Sandy, the Nielsen's and had so much fun hanging out with them. We toured the U.S.S. Midway and that was great! Then we were feeling adventurous and went Kayacking. I could write so many things about our guide who was a little bit different but this post would be too long...anyway, he was a goof and not very organized. He basically gave us no instruction, and as he led our friends back around the corner of a cave, the waves pushed them up onto the rocks and as they stood up another wave came in and as Marielle fell back, the oar hit her 2 front teeth and chipped them both...picture to follow!! We told her we'd post this and let me tell you she was such a good sport. I wanted to cry for her, but laugh at the same time...it was just how this trip was going!

Anyway, then back to the ship and on to Catalina Island. We rode tandem bikes around, arguing all the way! We really weren't too impressed with Catalina, but probably had to do with being our last day and full of disappointment and cold weather!

All in all, we were together, met great friends, didn't cook, clean, do dishes, change diapers, and ate lots and lots (5 lbs worth) of great food, so it was worth it! One day I will make it to Mexico, and they did give us 50% off of a future cruise!(my camera battery died during post so I will post more pics later--hopefully it wont take 4 months)

Half Marathon?

Chad has been gone working from 6:30 am until 9:00 pm all week as they are moving into their new building. He had to work last Saturday and I was so annoyed (although I know he doesn't want to be their either--but Saturday's are sacred to me) so when he got home I took off and went running. So I ran for over two hours and when I clocked it out after, I found that I had run approximately 13 miles. So I hate running, but for some reason it was liberating! After the first 2 miles it was just putting one foot in front of the other. I have been working out regularly but the idea of distance running has never been my friend. So although my knees ached for 24 hours I realized that my body actually can do more than I thought it could. I understand that feeling that those people from biggest loser get when they realize they can do more then they thought. Anyway the moral of the story is that I signed up today to face my distance running fear again for the Bear Lake Half Marathon. My sister has already signed up and 1-2 more friends have said they wanted to join us so the more the merrier. It is June 13th! It will be fun! Go to active.com! Depending on how many actually do it, we have the plush bunkhouse and trailer at Bear Lake to stay at! (you guys who have been their before know what I mean about plush---who's afraid of termites anyway!ha)

Oh and to update on my family, we took off a couple of weeks ago for St.George when the air was so bad up here. We spent 5 days down their and loved it. Luckily my my dad was able to come and help me and just having another adult around to help out is amazing. My mom came down for 2 days too. I miss living their so much! I wish Chad could've been their with us, but it was so nice to let the kids be outside. Everyone got healthy and that lasted for about 1 week when we got home and now we all are on the tail ends of the cough/cold that everyone seems to have! The basement is almost ready for paint so we are really excited for that too! I will get some pictures next time!

My Excuses for Lame Blogging!

So mainly my excuse is nearly constant sickness, from cold sores, to diarrhea, vomiting, colds, ear infections, strep throat, impetigo....you name it. It has been frustrating.

Our Thanksgiving and Christmas was great all except for my kids vomiting all over the place. This past week, I asked my parents to take my kids and did the very best I could and spent about 8 hours sterilizing my house. But sickness remains so we have been homebodies, and stir crazy home bodies at that. I did have fun at lunch with some friends and a little new year's get together.

We are finishing our basement, and that is exciting although in my mind I think it will "make it easier" the realist (chad would say pessimist) makes me say that I still don't see an end to the madness in sight! I literally spend half of my day, shutting drawers, shutting the fridge, replacing the heat vents, removing toys from heat vents, replacing rugs, hiding brooms and mops, taking my 16 month olds off the kitchen table and many more unnerving tasks! Those boys are into everything.

Kael has quickly turned from being my "easy" child to the most difficult at times. He is a BULLY! He hits, he screams, all to annoy Cali! Chad and I sit back and laugh sometimes until we feel bad, but seriously can you put a 16 month old in time-out? I've tried, it doesnt work. When I just had Cali I remember that I rarely yelled at her, "she was just a baby"....well, my softness is gone and my voice is raised way too much!!! Anyway, that is my resolution for the year, to take it day by day and not to raise my voice. Cali yells and I see that she gets it from me. Hopefully I am not too late to change!
Isn't this SEXY hair! I finally convinced Chad to give the razor a rest and let their hair grow out.

I had to post this one, Luke we love you!

Cali on her new scooter! She loves it!

This is actually at the healing phase, it was once much worse. Poor kid!

Twins Are Double Trouble

Twins are double trouble.
They cry, they smach, they tear.
They break and spill and bite
and scratch, and pull each others' hair.

They practice art upon the walls,
and yank electric plugs.
And crackers, milk, and something else
gets ground into the rugs.

They drive their mother crazy,
Their father is beserk;
He's glad when monday rolls around
so he can go to work.

The diaper pails are filled again,
The laundry tub's piled high.
The doctor's bills and others too,
are mounting to the sky.

So, if you have a single child
as placid as a dove,
contain your envy, if you can,
we have double love.

Al Willis

This is a poem that was given to me by my nurse the day I delivered my twins...she also had twins and it fits my family perfectly. Especially the "can't wait for monday" part!
