Pictures of the Kids

Cali and her new bed. Although I was nervous for this transition because her toys are in her room--she has done great and loves her new bed. She even will climb into it on her own when I didn't even know she was tired.
This is when they were about 3 weeks old--quite a difference-- that swing was retired over a month ago.

Chad----keeping busy

Well, Chad is doing great. He really enjoys his job so that is such a blessing to our family. He is especially anxious to get our yard done and has been working on it every free minute that he has. He is loving that this weather is starting to warm up so he can get out golfing.

He has been playing lots of basketball. He played on a city league and then church ball. This ward's church ball is more serious than I've ever seen. They just won the regional conference where they had announcers, gatorade, donuts, halftime music, it was quite exciting!!! haha. He had fun and I had fun watching him while trying to keep Cali off the court. I was ready for the championship game but Chad just informed me that they are doing a interregional tournament so the games continue. He will be mad for saying this but he really plays good every game but without fail he tells me that if he wouldn't get a technical for dunking in church games that he really was feeling it and wouldve dunked it on this certain play--- he has never completely dunked in his life. Ok well maybe once and he is close but mostly no so I like to make fun of him.

Trying to stay positive

Well, I am really happy being a mom but I get caught sulking a little bit. I am so grateful that I am able to stay home with my kids but I get a little stir crazy at the same time. I have returned to work for one shift a 4 hour shift. It was good to see friends but I also realized that I am tired enough with kids that I really don't want to add any night shifts onto the agenda unless I really have to. I will pick up a few shifts here and there but it is getting harder as we are getting busier.

I am helping train a 12 yr old girls comp soccer team. It has been fun and gets me involved in soccer. I am also starting to play in an outdoor women's league on Tuesday and Thursday nights starting in April. That might be scary. I am going to try to run some races this summer--not cause I like running but just to get off those last few baby weight lbs.

We are really excited to get our yard put in (thanks to 3 kids and our tax return) and having good weather so we can spend more time outside.

And I broke down and reluctantly we decided to swallow our pride and we bought a minivan. I fought that I ever would but I am so glad now. I am not gonna lie and say that I love the image of a total soccer mom driving my white minivan. I think it is a rule that people who buy minivan's have to rant and rave about how great they are so that more people will buy them! But seriously it is so convenient. The doors open by remote so I can have two carseats in hand (even though I can barely carry those heavy boys at the same time). Cali can't reach the boys to take their pacifiers out... if she can't have a pacifier then either can they! And it has a dvd player and pretty much it is always playing Cinderella. I often think and am not proud of it but how did anyone survive without pbs, disney channel, and dvd players.

Kyson and Kael

Well, these little boys are blessings. They are so fun! Most people look at them and can't believe that they are only 6 months old. They are huge. They are approx 18 lbs each with Kael being about 3 oz bigger than Ky, so pretty close. Cali was 18 lbs when she was 1 so it is a bit of a change for us. They are rolling all around and trying to sit up on their own. The are still spitting up a lot but it has gotten a lot better than when the were newborns. I know that they are obviously getting enough food and you will too when you see their cheeks. They love solid food. They start kicking their feet when they see the bowls. I would seriously go broke on just baby food at the rate they eat so Ive continued to nurse so I don't have to spend a ridiculous amount of money on formula and I make my own baby food. I just steam veges and then puree and add water to right consistency then I freeze them in ice cube trays then put them in bags. It has worked great so far and we are all happy, boys get good food and we save $$.

Luckily so far they have been pretty mellow. I think the Lord knew that I couldn't deal with 3 strong willed kids right now. But boys will be boys and I can't even imagine what my life will be like in 1 year from now when they are running around. I will probably change my tune and Cali will be the easier child and the boys will be challenging. We love the boys and they are so fun. AND YES they are finally sleeping through the night. If only they would nap a little more consistently on the same schedule during the day.

Princess Cali

Well, Cali is our little angel. Except that most the time "angel" is not the word that we are using to describe her. We love her so much but she is giving us a run for our money. Ignoring mom and dad is her forte. She is so active and fun. She loves to kick and throw balls. She especially loves to jump on trampolines (especially the full size tramp that is in our unfinished basement--with mesh guards up). She really fights to go to church. Nursery is pretty much a swear word--she starts screaming whenever she hears it. But once she calms down the awesome, patient nursery leaders say that she does great. She is learning new words every day. She always asks where'd daddy go? while he's at work. She loves to count. She counts to 10 but has to be reminded about number 4. She loves to play hopscotch and she counts as she does it. Mostly it is 8, 9, 8, 9.

She gave us quite an embarrasing moment--- a full on temper tantrum in Macy's. We got a lot of looks and she was heard from 60 yds away in the parking lot while she was inside!! It is something that we will always remember!

She loves her little brothers. She loves to hug them and kiss them and help take care of them. She gets a little jealous and doesn't like that I have to spend so much time holding them while I am nursing them. She says at least 10 times a day, "momma hold me!" so we are trying to give her some more alone time. Her favorite thing is to climb into their cribs when they awake in the morning. They love her too, they just smile and giggle as she talks to them and plays with them.

Trying Something New!

Well, I am horrible at keeping in touch with and getting pictures out so I decided to try something new. I really don't know much about "blogging" but I thought that I would give it a try.
