A Day at the Zoo!

Cali sitting on the pretend elephant! She loved the elephants the best. She has been telling us about all the animals that she saw but she is adamant that she saw a Whale...so maybe we need to work on her animal words!
Cali and Luke. Luke is one of Cali's closest friends. They cry for each other, "I wanna see LUKEE." I hear that all the time. They take care of each other in nursery! She wouldn't hold my hand while at the zoo but she would hold Luke's.
Giraffes were also a favorite!
So the funnest part about the zoo adventure (and any outing with 3 kids is an adventure) is about my sister Julee.

Luke and his mom Mindy came to the zoo with us and I asked Julee to come and help with my kids. She was 7 1/2 months pregnant. Well, we had been looking at all the animals for about 1.5 hours and they were getting restless and it was time to eat. We went to the playground area behind where the train is and over the pond, river-whatever it is. Anyway, it was also time for the boys to eat. Although I am getting closer to feeling ready to be done I am still nursing the boys and with Cali you couldn't have paid me to nurse anywhere public but I have been forced to lose my modesty and I sat on a bench(fully covered with a blanket) and started nursing. Well it was the first warm day of the season and the zoo was packed. It was so hard to keep track of your kids. Julee and Mindy were watching Cali and Luke on the playground. Well, brave and fearless Cali wanted to try everything and the biggest slide was the highlight so it is like a tall winding slide(looks like a waterslide but no water) anyway, I see Julee going up the slide with Luke and Cali. Mindy was waiting at the bottom. Well, Cali shot down the slide and then Luke got scared. Julee was trying to coax Luke into going and then started to carry him back down the stairs. She looked down to see Mindy but no Cali. She yelled to Mindy and asked where Cali went. Well Mindy was waiting for Luke to come down and Cali had wandered off...Well then Julee saw Cali on the bridge and was afraid she was going to fall into the water. Well I was 30 yards away and was unaware of anything happening until I see Julee running down the stairs with Luke wrapped around her waist, then running as fast as any 7.5 month pregnant lady could run. Then I see Cali at the same time that Cali sees Julee and of course what does any toddler do... She took off running..and no offense to Julee but I think Cali might be faster. Anyway it was so funny for me to see this scared look in Julee's eye holding Luke and running after Cali as fast as she could. That was the highlight of my day!! Julee just keeps thinking that since she is having a boy, he will be mellow like the twins and not wild like Cali, so here's hoping!!! But we love her!!!
